ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – On Friday in Islamabad, a security delegation from Cricket Australia met with Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to review security plans for the Australian team’s tour to Pakistan in March-April next year.

The interior minister told the group that flawless security measures had been established in this respect, and that the Ministry was in communication with the security agencies and governments of Sindh and Punjab in this regard.

People in Pakistan adore cricket, he continued, and have been yearning for Pakistan-Australia matches in their nation for the past twenty-four years.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed hoped that this visit would allow him to see a nice game. On their arrival in Pakistan, he stated, the Australian team will be greeted warmly.

The series between Pakistan and Australia will take place in March and April 2022, as previously stated. Three Tests, three ODIs, and one T20I will be played.

The Tests will take held in Karachi (3–7 March), Rawalpindi (12–16 March), and Lahore (21–25 March), with the four white-ball matches taking place in Lahore from March 29 to April 5.

The Tests will be part of the ICC World Test Championship, while the ODIs will be part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, a 13-team competition from which the top seven teams, as well as the hosts, India, would qualify directly for the 2023 World Cup.
