LAHORE, Pakistan — Following a dismal result in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local government elections, Prime Minister Imran Khan advised party members in Punjab to start planning for the Punjab local elections as soon as possible.

The premier made the remarks during a meeting with key PTI officials, including CM Usman Buzdar, Governor Punjab Chaudhary Sarwar, Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhary, Shafqat Mehmood, Shahbaz Gill, Mehmood-ur-Rashid, and provincial health minister Yasmin Rashid.

The party’s top leadership was asked to make ideas on how to enhance the party’s standing. Furthermore, the prime minister stated that he will be in control of the province’s electoral plan. He believes that authority should be devolved to the grassroots level in order to develop a robust local government system capable of addressing all concerns that the public faces.

Furthermore, Imran Khan stated that the views of the party’s senior leadership must be recognised. To develop a better plan, the administrative and political zones must work together. He went on to say that the distribution of Sehat Insaaf Cards in Punjab should be sped up.
