DUBAI: Due to coronavirus fears, the UAE has prohibited inbound flights from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Nigeria, according to state news agency WAM on Saturday.
“This includes halting admission of visitors who were in the four nations 14 days before arriving in the UAE, however flight operations from the UAE to the same countries will continue,” the news agency added.
The UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) made the decision (GCAA).
Travel to the aforementioned nations is likewise prohibited for inhabitants of the Gulf state. Emergency treatment cases, official delegations, and scholarships from the UAE, on the other hand, will be accepted.
“This decision does not apply to UAE nationals, their first degree relatives, diplomatic missions, official delegations between the UAE and certain countries, or Golden residency holders,” it stated.
The Gulf state has also prohibited its residents from visiting the aforementioned nations. Emergency treatment cases, official delegations, and scholarships from the UAE, on the other hand, will be accepted.
“This decision does not apply to UAE nationals, their first degree relatives, diplomatic missions, official delegations between the UAE and certain countries, or Golden residency holders,” it stated.
According to the news agency, passengers travelling from Uganda and Ghana to the UAE on transit flights should have a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours and a Rapid-PCR test at the airport within six hours of departure.
Travelers will be required to take another Rapid PCR test at the transit airport before entering the UAE, according to the announcement.
