KARACHI – The wait is over for Port City residents, as the Green Line Bus service began full commercial operation today.
According to details, 80 buses will cover a 21-kilometer route from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with one-way fares ranging from Rs15 to Rs55.
The 18-meter-long buses have 40 seats and a capacity of 150 people. The bus also has a wheelchair ramp that can be adjusted.
The imported vehicles meet Euro 3 standards, which means that the buses’ carbon monoxide emissions are reduced.
It should also be noted that, despite claims of project completion, many areas, including Golimar and UP More, still await escalators, and many other areas are unfinished. Keeping this in mind, citizens have demanded that the fare be reduced.
According to official sources, the escalator installation has been delayed due to delays in import services, and the work will be completed as soon as the machinery is received.
