RAWALPINDI – General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), stated on Wednesday that Pakistan’s army is committed to playing its role in establishing peace under the United Nations banner, and that we have made numerous sacrifices for this noble cause.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, Lt General Sikabwe Asinda Fall, Commander of the Terrestrial Army Congo, met with COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.
During the meeting, the COAS stated that Pakistan regards Congo as a key country on the African continent and values Congo’s contribution to regional peace.
The meeting also covered topics of mutual interest, regional security, and the scope of military cooperation between the two countries, including defence, training, and security.
The visiting dignitary praised Pakistan’s armed forces for their professionalism and their role in UN peacekeeping operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Lt General Sikabwe Asinda Fall also promised to strengthen cooperation between the two militaries in a variety of fields.
