MARTIN, DIEGO – Pakistan’s ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup campaign began on Monday with a crushing 115-run victory over Zimbabwe at the Diego Martin Sporting Complex.
Pakistan demonstrated their batting prowess in their Group C opener in Guyana, scoring 315 runs due to a century from Haseebullah Khan. Despite an 83-run eighth-wicket partnership between Brian Bennett and Tendekai Mataranyika, Zimbabwe were all out for 200 runs in the chase.
Haseebullah Zadran’s 135 off 155 balls was the best score of the competition thus far, as he and Irfan Khan collaborated for a 192-run third-wicket stand.
