The Registrar of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has objected to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar’s petition contesting the Election Commission of Pakistan’s notice of election (ECP).

According to facts, PM Imran and Asad Umar contended in their plea that new legislation allows public office holders to organise electoral campaigns.

According to Asad Umar, the electoral commission lacks the power to interpret the legislation.

The petition was submitted without biometrics or an affidavit from Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to the registrar.
