Pakistan dismisses India’s irrational opposition to the OIC’s invitation to Kashmiri leaders.

Pakistan on Thursday strongly rebuked an Indian Ministry of External Affairs statement that contained a baseless objection to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) invitation to the Kashmiri leadership for the 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, which will be held in Islamabad from March 22-23, 2022.

In a statement, the Foreign Office Spokesperson stated that India lacked the legal authority to claim the disputed area of Jammu and Kashmir as its “internal affair.” The final disposition of the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be made in accordance with the will of the people expressed through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite to be held under the auspices of the United Nations, according to numerous UNSC resolutions on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Despite India’s repeated denials, the reality of its unlawful occupation and persecution in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir remains unmasked (IIOJK).

The right of peoples to self-determination is a concept inscribed in the United Nations Charter. The UN Security Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have acknowledged this right for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who had been subjected to unlawful Indian occupation since 1947.
