Former US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad paid a visit to General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Friday.
According to a statement published by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting reviewed subjects of mutual concern, regional security situation, especially Afghanistan, and Pakistan-US bilateral cooperation in many domains.
The COAS emphasised the need of global cooperation and serious efforts to prevent a humanitarian disaster in Afghanistan. He also expressed gratitude to the previous US Special Representative for his participation in the Islamabad Security Dialogue.
The visiting dignitary praised Pakistan’s contribution to regional stability.
