The President has asked the ECP to recommend dates for General Elections within the next 90 days.

According to the constitution, the President’s Secretariat has urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to recommend dates for holding general elections within ninety days of the dissolution of the National Assembly (NA).

According to details, the President’s Secretariat has informed the Election Commission of Pakistan that clause 5(A) of Article 48 and clause 2 of Article 224 of the constitution provide that the President shall appoint a date for holding general elections not later than ninety days from the date of dissolution of the National Assembly.
