Shehbaz Sharif, President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has been chosen as Pakistan’s 23rd Prime Minister, prompting a barrage of congratulations.
In a message on the social networking site Twitter, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Congratulations to Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on becoming Prime Minister of Pakistan. India wants peace and stability in the region free of terrorism, so that we can focus on challenges and ensure the well-being of people.”
