Moscow said on Friday that 18 personnel of the EU mission in Russia had been ordered to leave the country, accusing Brussels of severing links.
“Eighteen members of the EU Delegation to Russia have been designated persona non grata and will be required to leave Russian Federation territory in the near future,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The move comes after the EU ordered the departure of 19 Russian diplomats on April 5.
The ministry said it called the EU ambassador to Russia, Markus Ederer, to tell him of the punitive actions.
