Pakistan summoned Afghanistan’s charge d’affaires on Wednesday to condemn a terrorist strike in North Waziristan that killed seven Pakistani soldiers.

The foreign office strongly denounced terrorists’ use of Afghan land to carry out cross-border strikes and asked Kabul to take tough measures against anyone participating in militant operations in Pakistan.

In recent days, events at the Pakistan-Afghan border have grown substantially, with Pakistani security personnel being targeted from across the border.

For some months, Pakistan and Afghanistan have been working via institutional channels to improve cooperation and security along their long-shared border.
