On Wednesday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) ordered all Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to take suitable steps to ensure adequate gasoline supplies for tourists over the Eid holidays.
In a brief press statement, OGRA spokesman Imran Ghaznavi said, “The authority has requested all OMCs to increase their shipments towards the north in order to maintain seamless and uninterrupted gasoline supplies at the main consumption locations.”
He said OGRA enforcement teams had already been told to inspect and verify supplies at depots, as well as keep a close eye on the fuel supply issue.
The authority also recommended the general public to inspect the condition of their vehicles before embarking on the voyage.
