LAHORE – Four alleged terrorists were detained by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday in various locations around Punjab.

A representative for the CTD said that 50 areas were searched in 49 combing and search operations, adding that 2713 suspects were questioned, 517 people had biometric checks, and three suspects were detained. The apprehended suspects’ possession of weapons and explosive materials, including one handgun with a 30-bore barrel, was discovered.

He said that four FIRs had been filed against the detained individuals at Dunyapur, Civil Line Mandi Bahauddin, Yeki Gate Lahore, and Nowshera Khushab. The suspects have been moved to an undisclosed location while more inquiries are being made.

According to the statement, the CTD is vigorously pursuing its objective of a safe and secure Punjab and would stop at nothing to prosecute terrorists and other anti-state individuals.
