ISLAMABAD : Sikandar Sultan Raja was named chief election commissioner under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administration, and at the time, they used to pour accolades on him, according to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Malik Ahmad Khan on Thursday.

The PML-N leader stated during a news conference that although the PTI claimed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) made biassed rulings, the party was ready to accept judgements that were favourable to it and reject others.

Imran Khan allegedly threatened the election monitor and the courts, according to the PM’s advisor. Is this democracy that the PTI supports? he questioned.

The PML-N leader claimed there was nothing unlawful about the arrest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry since the former information minister should not have threatened ECP members in the first place. “This is not democracy; this is hooliganism,” said Fawad, “therefore I was not anticipating such threats from him.”

He said that PTI leader Farrukh Habib should also be the subject of a FIR for allegedly blocking police cars.
