The Nepra has approved an increase in electricity rate of Rs3.28 per unit.

ISLAMABAD – The National Electric electricity Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has authorized a Rs3.28 per unit increase in electricity rate for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2022-23 to accommodate for fuel cost adjustments.

His judgment has been forwarded to the federal government for final approval by the regulatory authority. The hike in power costs will take effect as soon as the government approves it.

During the six-month period (October 2023 to March 2024), distribution corporations (Discos) will recoup Rs159 billion from customers.

The new pricing will apply to all clients.
