KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to close all cattle markets throughout the province due to an outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) caused by a vector-borne virus.
The Sindh government’s livestock and animal husbandry department has ordered the shutdown of cattle markets and warned people not to ingest affected animals’ meat or milk.
To avoid cows from catching LSD, the livestock agency encouraged cattle owners to segregate sick animals from healthy ones and to apply an anti-mosquito spray on a regular basis.
